The two Singapore-based enterprises were recognized for their achievements in leveraging Red Hat solutions to drive innovation and deliver exceptional customer experiences in an ever-changing landscape.
Amid growing uncertainty, innovation still stands tall as a priority for businesses. According to the Red Hat 2023 Global Tech Outlook, businesses continue to rank innovation as a powerful differentiator, allowing organizations to rise above their competitors and forge their unique path to success.
The APAC Innovation Awards’ five categories focus on key technologies that can help businesses stand out amid today’s uncertain landscape: Digital Transformation, Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud-native Development, Automation, and Resilience.
The winners were selected based on the positive impact their Red Hat deployments had on their business goals. They were recognized for showcasing the possibilities of open source, pushing the boundaries of business processes, productivity, innovation, and resilience.
Two of the categories were won by Singapore-based organizations. PSA Corporation Limited, the operator of the world’s largest transhipment hub, was awarded in the Automation category, while UOB, a leading bank in Asia, was awarded in the Digital Transformation and Cloud-Native Development category.
Winner: PSA Corporation Limited
PSA Corporation Limited (PSA Singapore) operates the world’s largest transhipment hub, 24/7 all year round. Functioning as one integrated facility, the City Terminals, Pasir Panjang Terminals and Tuas Port offer connections to 600 ports globally – including daily sailings to every major port in the world.
With the growing need to enhance users’ business experiences, PSA saw a demand for accelerated delivery of its IT services. Automating PSA’s IT processes via the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform enabled PSA to achieve their objectives for higher productivity, increased performance and improved security and compliance, and ultimately, delivering better user experiences. This success has also driven PSA to explore scaling Ansible Automation Platform across a broader scope in its organizational IT infrastructure in Singapore.
Ho Vee Leung, Regional Head of IT, Southeast Asia, PSA Corporation Ltd, said: ”A digital first mindset is essential for every business to thrive and respond to changing customer expectations. We believe that automation can help PSA standardize and ensure sound operations, reinforcing our position as a digital-first organization. Adopting Red Hat open source solutions have enabled us to harness the power of automation to achieve greater business outcomes, providing us the support we need to ensure that operations run smoothly.”
