A green logistics services provider in the Philippines has announced it has taken another step towards championing sustainable logistics and transport in the country.
On 14 February this year, Mober publicized its acquisition of a fleet of 100% electric trucks with a range of 220km on a single charge of their onboard 282.6-kW battery.
The firm, built on the principle of maintaining eco-sustainability via leveraging of technology for its logistics services, will be able to make full use of the electric trucks’ 18-ton payload for more efficient large scale logistics operations. The trucks can be fully charged in two hours at a 120kW Fast DC charging station, and offer instant torque, quiet operation, and regenerative braking for smoother, more sustainable performance.
According to its founder and CEO, Dennis Ng, “this addition boosts our goal of expanding our EV fleet to 500 units by the end of the year. We’re proud of this milestone and excited to provide our partners and the Filipino people with even greener and more efficient delivery services.”
By operating a fully electric fleet, Mober is expected to eliminate tailpipe emissions, reduce degradation of air quality in the country, and champion the transition to a more sustainable transportation ecosystem. The firm has announced its objective to increase its fleet of electric vehicles to 500 by the end of 2025.
Additionally, beyond expanding its fleet of electric vehicles, the firm is on a mission to innovate in the commercial EV sector with its technology solutions:
- A proprietary Battery Management System that can provide real-time battery health and performance monitoring, which can facilitate predictive maintenance and help logistics firms extend the lifespans of their electric vehicles.
- A Transport Management System that green logistics firms can use to optimize delivery routes, minimize energy consumption and emissions and maximize operational efficiency.
Through its initiatives, Mober hopes to address the increasing demand for greener mid- and last-mile delivery solutions from businesses in the country, including those in retail, fast-moving consumer goods and more.
