When we are in flight, we are told to turn our smartphones in “airplane mode” to minimize the chance that any active phone’s cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and other transmissions can interfere with the aircraft’s vital communications and navigational operations.
However, even when we are not traveling on any aircraft, airplane mode can be a useful tool for adding extra privacy and battery saving features when you really need them.
