With over 2,500 stores in over 32 countries, integrating and digitalizing its human resource operations was key to continuity and growth.
In a rapidly changing consumer retail sector, the strong international growth of one global maker of personal care and beauty products over the last decade had made it necessary to combine its global HR practices.
In developing a global vision of its talent management, embodied by a strategy to value the richness of career paths and unique opportunities offered by the brand, the firm, Sephora, wanted to rely on a unique technology to manage and exploit its HR data fully through dynamic analysis via its existing SAP-based Human Resources Information System for all countries and employees.
By adding a business analytics platform, the firm has now transformed its HR processes into a data-driven management tool that facilitates:
- the use of mobile devices by all managers to have a unified source of up-to-the-minute data for making informed decisions with, regardless of the country of operation
- integration of four critical functions: employee engagement, talent development, recruitment, and HR organization and effectiveness into an intuitive, easy-to-use and robust application that is a main driver in the overall HR digitalization journey.
- employees’ expectations of the same level of service and responsiveness from their employer as that which is expected of them.
According the firm’s Global VP of HR information services, Thomas Morabito: “It was imperative to provide our managers with a solution that is easily accessible via mobile applications to provide them with information in real-time.”
Said Nicolas Hirsch, Country Leader (France), Qlik, the provider of the analytics platform: “HR data allows companies to better understand the expectations of their employees; to accompany them throughout their career; and to identify opportunities for them—ultimately allowing for more refined and higher value-added talent management. We are delighted to support Sephora in the deployment of its employee vision.”
