This hacker approach will assist Dell to sniff out top talent to join its Experience Innovation Group (EIG) in Singapore.
In its drive to find multi-skilled creators, tinkerers and explorers to grow its challenging business, Dell Technologies has launched an innovative platform to recruit top technology talent from across Southeast Asia.
Aimed at software engineers, UI/UX designers, interaction designers, system architects and hardware embedded engineers, the Dell Augmented Hackathon addresses three themes for the Future of Work: Immersive Productivity, Always Ready, and Working Together.
Participants will first need to submit product ideas that address one of the three themes. The top 100 participants will then be shortlisted and invited to compete at the hackathon on 7-8 March 2020 in Singapore, where they will work on projects in pre-assigned teams.
Thereafter, top participants will get to pitch their ideas at Pitch Day on 14 March 2020, where their projects will be judged by senior team members from Dell Technologies. Twenty winning participants will be given the chance to help design and build revolutionary tools that will transform the Future of Work. Top teams from the Hackathon will also receive rewards from a prize pool of S$25,000 in addition to a range of select Dell products.
Commenting on the launch of the Dell Augmented Hackathon, Jason Goh, Design Director, Experience Design Group (part of the Experience Innovation Group at Dell Technologies), said: “We’re passionate about creating cutting-edge solutions that boost productivity in the workplace, enhancing employee engagement and improving talent recruitment processes. As the hunt for talent intensifies, businesses must rethink their talent strategy and go beyond the traditional resume-and-interview hiring methods to explore innovative approaches. The Dell Augmented Hackathon is a unique approach to recruit top technology talent and we believe that this process simulates a real-life work situation which allows participants to think outside the box, challenge themselves under tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.”
Applications for the Dell Augmented Hackathon are now open and submissions will close on 17 February 2020, 11:59pm SGT. Applicants should ideally possess deep expertise in one technology area as well as keen awareness of the corresponding technology landscape. Shortlisted participants traveling to Singapore for the Hackathon will receive a travel grant for subsidised travel and accommodation expenses. Interested individuals can apply here.
The Dell Augmented Hackathon is hosted by Singapore-based Padang & Co, under its Hack-Hire platform. The Hack-Hire platform was developed to help organisations revamp the way they hire tech professionals by helping them switch to a competitive hiring hackathon or innovation challenge format.
