Ninja Van Malaysia streamlines warehouse workflows to reduce logistics inefficiencies

Continual warehouse digitalization pays off as the firm uses cloud systems, mobile devices, and workflow streamlining to enhance operational productivity

In warehousing digitalization, sometimes giving logistics staff decent tools and a coherent workflow is enough: no need for breakthrough technology.

On 24 June 2026, Ninja Van Malaysia announced it had streamlined warehouse fulfillment operations to cope with rising order volumes across e-commerce and B2B workflows.

The logistics provider, which serves nearly 25m recipients nationwide, had been under pressure to keep picking, packing, labeling, and dispatch moving without peak-period delays.

To address those bottlenecks, the firm reorganized its warehouse workflow around a cloud-based warehouse management system and mobile and printing tools for frontline staff. The goal was to improve scan throughput, inventory visibility, and label accuracy while reducing friction during busy shifts. Also:

  • Warehouse staff used mobile computers to access inventory and task guidance in real time
  • Picking and dispatch steps were linked through a centralized warehouse management system
  • Packing stations used desktop printers to produce routing labels immediately after items were picked
  • Both thermal transfer and direct thermal printing were used to match different labeling needs
  • The setup improved label legibility and parcel tracking across the delivery journey

The new workflow has doubled scanning speed, with operators handling 30 to 60 scans per minute; and reduced complaints tied to missed or delayed deliveries. That gain matters because the warehouse had been struggling to keep pace with high-volume order processing and time-sensitive dispatch schedules.

According to the firm’s Director of Supply Chain and Partnerships, Tzi Zhao Lee, “Operations are now smoother” and “things just move,” with less time spent troubleshooting at the warehouse. Lee also said the change reduced frustration and helped staff maintain momentum through the shift.

Said Joelle Booi, Country Lead (Singapore), Zebra Technologies, the tech vendor for the project, “equipping the connected frontline with the right technology can help logistics providers modernize operations at scale…” and enable Ninja Van “to overcome peak-volume challenges, improve workforce productivity, and deliver more reliable service for customers.”
