Solace’s PubSub+ will serve as the backbone for event-driven distribution of information, intelligently filtering and routing information to where it is needed by establishing connections with the Smart Port’s sensor networks and industrial control systems.
PSA Singapore has selected Solace’s PubSub+ platform as an infrastructure component for its upcoming port in Tuas, Singapore.
Tuas Port will commence its first phase of operations in 2021 and is expected to become fully operational in 2040.
The new port will leverage automation technologies and feature a command center that orchestrates the port’s automated operations and maintenance activities, including the remote control and diagnostics of equipment.
Solace PubSub+ will serve as the backbone for event-driven distribution of information. By establishing connections with the Smart Port’s sensor networks and industrial control systems, it will intelligently filter and route information to where it is needed.
Solace is also ideally suited to support the massive scale of Tuas Port. When fully completed, Tuas Port will be the world’s largest fully automated container terminal, capable of handling 65 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEU) per year.
Through the efficient use of network resources, PubSub+ can support unparalleled throughput. It also buffers information flow to act as a “shock absorber” that guarantees the in-order delivery of all data, even if recipients are temporarily disconnected or cannot keep up with the flow of message.
“We are excited to work with PSA Singapore to drive efficiency and resilience for the upcoming Tuas mega port. Singapore’s openness to digitization initiatives has been a key driver for its success as a global maritime hub, and we are delighted to be able to play a pivotal role in bringing its Smart Port vision to life.”
Mr Les Rechan, President and CEO, Solace.
