Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), Australia’s oldest medical research institute, looked to ALE to provide its staff with flexible and collaborative working.
When the pandemic hit, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research(WEHI) quickly realized the need to enable flexible and remote working, as lockdowns and work-from-home directives took effect.
This required WEHI to work closely with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) to integrate their existing ALE OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server (OXE) telephony platform with Microsoft Teams to create a seamless user experience for their staff.
The new WEHI blended environment resulted in a modern, cloud-based solution that offers a variety of benefits, including:
- An easy-to-deploy single interface of communication tools that seamlessly connect people, machines, and processes
- Reducing the cost of having to invest in multiple tools and applications for remote collaboration
- Added security in the form of four wireless networks with separate SSIDs for team members who work temporarily on-site
