Shifting from paper invoices to centralized digital workflows helps the firm to reduce bottlenecks and enable locally driven process optimization

As part of a wider push for locally driven process optimization, Dunlop Tire (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has been working to streamline its sales and accounting operations.

The Thailand-based tire maker and service provider had long relied on paper-based invoicing and manual data entry, which not only constrained its ability to scale, but also increased the risk of errors.

On 11 August 2026, the firm announced the results of a recent digital transformation effort focused on invoice handling and accounting workflows: Local sales staff previously received about 200 paper invoices a month from vendors via postal mail and chat tools. Each invoice required manual entry of payment details into spreadsheets, followed by manual creation of outgoing invoices to customers. This repetitive work created bottlenecks, produced occasional input errors, and diverted frontline staff from customer-facing activities and market analysis.

The firm’s medium-term plan called for shifting routine accounting tasks into more standardized, digital workflows that could be operated and optimized by local staff. Management introduced a set of accounting-focused digital solutions aimed at centralizing and automating invoice processing:

  • Online invoice capture and central repository for incoming vendor invoices
  • Digitization and Optical Character Recogntiion conversion of paper invoices into structured data
  • Role-based, real-time access to invoice information for relevant departments
  • Automated extraction of invoice data into standard formats for customer billing
  • Integrated messaging and notes features for vendors and internal teams to handle corrections and status updates
  • Localized onboarding and support processes to help vendors transition from paper to online submission

Said the firm’s president, Takahiro Tanaka: “Our goal was to review business processes so sales staff could focus on higher-value work… Building on this success, we want to connect this to organization-wide growth by developing a culture in which each staff member independently identifies issues, makes proposals to management, and drives improvements.”

According to a press release from Sansan, Inc., the provider of the underlying accounting digitization platform, the digital transformation “has created an environment in which sales representatives can spend time on work they need to focus on, such as customer communication and sales proposals.”
