How Hong Kong public transport network MTR has been digitalizing and investing in data technology to enable faster, more accurate decision making to improve commuters’ experience. 

MTR has recently partnered with TIBCO to build a data analytics hub for analyzing customer data from sources such as its mobile app, which has close to a million users.

In less than six months, TIBCO has helped the MTR data team to build an online one-stop-shop data catalog that has a self-service web-based interface for employees to enable business continuity.

By having easy access to trusted accurate data, commuters can benefit from the convenience of having access to when buses and trains arrive. Through the collaboration, MTR has also benefited from the ability to track data usage across users and domains and fulfilling all data regulatory requirements.
