Krungsri bank advances digital transformation with cloud migration, analytics adoption and unified platforms

Krungsri bank advances digital transformation with cloud migration, analytics adoption and unified platforms

With the infrastructure overhaul, the major Thai bank expects to strengthen operations and customer service while gearing for growth and resilience.

One of Thailand’s largest financial institutions, Krungsri, serves millions of retail and corporate customers across the country, and had been faced mounting challenges in dealing with fragmented systems, growing transaction volumes, and the need for faster, more personalized services.

In recent years, the bank, also known as Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Limited) had been hindered by legacy systems that limited its ability to analyze customer data in real time and deliver services across both physical and digital channels.

As competition in Thailand’s financial services sector intensified, the bank sought to strengthen its infrastructure to improve speed, agility, and customer-centric operations. On 10 September 2025, Krungsri was announced to have completed a significant phase in its digital transformation strategy, involving a range of digital initiatives designed to unify its core systems and streamline operations.

The effort incorporated the following upgrades:

  • Migration of workloads to cloud-based environments to enable scalability and cross-platform functionality
  • Adoption of advanced analytics to extract insights from large customer datasets and support risk management decisions
  • Deployment of automation to accelerate loan approvals, compliance checks, and routine banking processes
  • Integration of digital platforms across retail and corporate banking to provide faster, consistent customer experiences

Said the bank’s Head of Enterprise Data and Analytics Group, Tul Roteseree: “With a scalable and robust governance framework underpinning our cloud-enabled, secure technology infrastructure, we are not only helping to ensure regulatory compliance and boosting operational efficiency but also driving customer-centric innovation and superior customer service to reinforce our leadership in the financial industry.”

According to Steven Seah, Vice President (ASEAN, India and Korea), Informatica, the technology provider for the upgrades, the project was structured around aligning systems with the bank’s long-term priorities:  “Krungsri’s transformation journey demonstrates how strategic data governance … can help large financial institutions to navigate complex data landscapes, accelerate innovation and realize meaningful operational value.”
