What are some of the biggest communications challenges businesses in the region are facing?
Jarek Kutylowski (JK): The APAC region has emerged as a global economic powerhouse, presenting a wealth of opportunities for businesses seeking to expand their international footprint.
At the same time, the region is quite linguistically diverse, often presenting a challenge for global businesses. Anyone operating in the region knows for a fact that language barriers are one of the biggest challenges businesses faces entering APAC – it’s easy to see why the use case of translation is so central for any expansion strategy in the region.
In today’s globalized economy, businesses face a growing demand for diverse, high-quality content across multiple languages, with global messages that also resonate with local audiences. This is especially challenging for companies that want to conserve resources without sacrificing communication speed, efficiency and, most importantly, accuracy.
That said, solving language problems – including translation – is key to expanding to new markets and having a strong global footprint. The maturity of Language and Translation AI technology is such nowadays that global companies are quickly adopting tools like ours to successfully streamline content localization and deployment.
How does DeepL’s technology help to address these challenges?
JK: DeepL’s technology is based on artificial intelligence tailored specifically for language. This singular focus on language makes us unique in the world of AI, as our models are specifically designed to solve language problems.
As a company, we are very research-focused and having operating in the industry for almost seven years now, it has given us a lot of experience in how our AI can solve a multitude of use cases for different verticals.
As well as pushing Language AI technology to new levels, we’ve been committed to creating solutions that offer our customers the highest standards of security. Many of the companies working with our technology operate in highly regulated industries, so this has also been a top priority for us.

In terms of innovation and user experience, how does DeepL differ from other translation engines?
JK: DeepL distinguishes itself through a unique approach to innovation, research, and to Language AI technology. Our specialized AI technology is fine-tuned to focus solely on language. This results in much more nuanced and accurate results.
Since we launched DeepL, we have been raising the bar in Language AI technology. Recently, we launched our next-generation LLM which outperforms our main competitors in translation quality.
DeepL’s strength for businesses lies in its ability to streamline translation and localization efforts, significantly reducing the time and effort needed for content deployment at scale.
In fact, in our recent commissioned study with Forrester, businesses using our technology reported up to a 345% return on investment and efficiency savings of $3 million over three years, essentially allowing them to streamline their operations, enhance productivity, and better allocate their resources.
What is your vision for growth and adoption in APAC, and what does the future of Language AI look like?
JK: APAC is indeed a key region with many key markets for us. We have seen success in Japan and Korea, which are two of our strongest, fastest-growing markets to date — and we see this as proof of strong demand for Language AI technology in the region. We recently added Traditional Chinese to our translator, with an eye on markets like Taiwan and Hong Kong—both of which are strong business hubs for finance and technology.
Focused on future growth in APAC, we will soon integrate more Asian languages into the translator to further empower enterprises with greater, more effective communication.
